Twin houses, or Spiritual Sanctuaries, are unique structures built for newborn twins in Sierra Leone, connecting them to the supernatural and allowing communion with ancestral spirits. They honour and protect twins, reflecting the cultural belief in their special nature and the interconnectedness of physical and spiritual realms in Sierra Leonean society.
